The power of day to day change

Most of us when embarking on a new journey, no matter what it is, want the results right away. We are impatient and want can't wait to get to the finished line as soon as possible. We are so focused on now, that we forget that the true change happens slow and steady.

It is the same in fitness journey.

Most of the people, myself included, started because we wanted to shed a few pounds and look better for a certain occasion. I've tried lot of quick fixes, diets and restricting my food groups, but always ended up disappointed cause it might have worked in start but very soon everything would go back to way it was. Diets lead to sugar cravings. Restricting food groups lead to  low energy and headaches. Working out to look better for a certain occasion lead to quitting because you never started with a good reason in the first place. And over and over in circle we go. Why are we willing to complain for days, months, years sometimes, about wanting to change something, but unwilling to make any change? Why do we think it is enough to give it our minimum effort and expect that things fix themselves over night? It does not work like that. Life does not work like that.

Life is not about quick fixes. Life is about putting the effort and reap the benefits of your hard work. Life is not about finding shortcuts, it's about finding sustainability in the long run.

It's about finding the reason why it matters to YOU, that special little spark inside you that you know will make a difference to your life.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. You will never regret the time you invest in yourself, to better your life. Each day we are given 24 hours. Over and over again. Whatever way we use that time, we are never getting it back. Making yourself a priority for 30-60 min a day to workout should be a choice that you are willing to stick to. The time will pass anyways, so why shoudn't you look back after a year and feel proud because you did not give up?

You get what you put in. You may not see the change from day-to-day, but just because you do not see it, does not mean it is not happening.

It is happening. Not only visibly, but you are changing from the within too. Every day you choose to show up and change something about your life, you are one step closer to your goal.

Showing up every day shows commitment.

It builds up discipline.

It makes you stronger, both mentally and physically.

So what is stopping you?
